Melinda Hutchings is passionate about the written word and is represented by a leading Australian literary agent. She has touched lives through her work: her books Fighting for Life; Anorexia the Road to Recovery (Hale & Iremonger February 2000) and How to Recover from Anorexia and Other Eating Disorders (Hale & Iremonger September 2001) have helped thousands of people understand the dynamics of eating disorders. She is also a contributing author to Some Girls Do, an anthology of prominent Australian female authors (Allen & Unwin April 2007).

Melinda has completed a Diploma of Professional Writing from the Australian College of Journalism, and has been published in mainstream magazines, two short story anthologies and won two first place awards for her short stories.

She is a role model and public speaker and has presented at many forums throughout Australia and been profiled in mainstream magazines, the  metropolitan press and several television & radio programs.

Melinda is a member of the NSW Writers' Centre and the Australian Society of Authors. Melinda's third book, Why Can't I Look the Way I Want?, will be published by Allen & Unwin in June 2009.
